History
The history of softball in New Zealand dates back to 1935 when the game was first introduced recreationally by visiting American sailors. The person resposnible for establishing the official game was Mr W.H.Wilson of the Ford Motor Company situated in Seaview, Lower Hutt, who had played the the game in the United States before arriving to New Zealand.
